“Everything fades away when you’re looking for something’ and she didn’t say more.” created in the project space Platform China in Beijing, plays with visitor expectations while completely transforming the space. The viewer becomes a participant in a 23-meter-long staircase structure covered with red plastic carpet, occupying both the patio and the exhibition space. From the entrance, the public must climb the stairs, full of anticipation about what they will find at the top. Upon arrival, they discover the stairs only descend, defying expectations. A story is projected onto the wall narrates an imaginary encounter between two people, enhancing the theatrical experience and evoking conflicting expectations of presence and absence.
